UPS Employee Review

UPS - "Terrible treatment and horrible attitude"
Submitted on Jan-28-2012
UPS is a great job for all the other reasons outside of work. Great benefits, they pay for school, they have a retirement plan, and eventually everyone could someday aspire to have a full time job, or get promoted to better positions such as drivers and so on.

The cons are all related towards the direct treatment of the employee. The company continuously expects outputs that are ridiculous and with that being said they strongly hold you accountable for not completing such work. It is mathematically impossible. Not to mention communication is terrible. They always seem to have an attitude. They always seem to accuse employees of stealing company time. The relationship amongst employees is great. It is the relationship between management and employees that is terrible. Management always has an attitude towards the employee. They are very ignorant, arrogant, demanding, oppressive, and they simply don't give you the time of day.

UPS employees are part of a union. My experiences with the union have been terrible. They also don't give you the time of day, they expect you to know everything, their communication is terrible, and in my instances it almost seems like they weren't on my side at all. I now try to avoid any relationship with my union being that is was just about as useless and I ended up finding out everything on my own.

Working at UPS has been almost like a jail sentence. I'm only counting the days until I graduate college and am able to collect my retirement. I don't like UPS work ethics, integrity, and morale. I personally consider myself to be a great employee, Hard-worker, educated, and polite; But it almost seems that if you present yourself as such an employee they will exploit and take advantage of that.

Sure UPS drivers might seem friendly, but it is everything you don't see inside the warehouse and distribution hubs that truly make the service top notch in exchange for some very poor employee treatment. Overall if you can sacrifice in exchange for some good benefits and tuition reimbursement, then by all means get a job at UPS.
