National Sexual Harassment Registry FAQ

What is the National Sexual Harassment Registry?

The National Sexual Harassment Registry is a searchable database of people who have been formally and publicly accused of sexual harassment by their subordinates or coworkers.  The Registry is designed to be a resource to help job seekers better evaluate potential employers and to help organizations better evaluate job candidates.

How are people added to the National Sexual Harassment Registry?

eBossWatch carefully researches each and every case before including it in the Registry.  All information provided in the National Sexual Harassment Registry has been confirmed from publicly available sources such as court records and the news media.

Can someone challenge their inclusion in the National Sexual Harassment Registry?

If you have additional information about your sexual harassment case that you would like us to consider, please email us at Contact@ebosswatch.com

Why doesn't eBossWatch only include people in the Registry after a jury has found that they committed sexual harassment?

The overwhelming majority of sexual harassment complaints are settled out of court without the alleged harasser or employer admitting to any wrongdoing.  Therefore, restricting the National Sexual Harassment Registry to the small minority of cases that conclude with a jury finding for the plaintiff would render the Registry useless.

Should an organization refuse to hire a candidate because they are included in the Registry?

Organizations should not base hiring decisions solely on a candidate's inclusion in the National Sexual Harassment Registry.  The Registry is designed to be one of many resources to be taken into consideration when evaluating job candidates so that employers will be able to make better hiring decisions.  People included in the Registry may or may not be guilty of harassment.  Employers should question these candidates to receive their versions of the allegations before making a decision about their candidacy.
